Conference Impressions, Part II

There are so many things going on in my life that lately I find myself pulled in many directions.  Many times I’ve found myself feeling frustrated and overwhelmed as I struggle to keep everything in balance.   This makes me cranky.  As I mentioned in the Initial post, I didn’t have a specific question really.  At least it didn’t feel that way.  It seemed too broad a subject to want to know how to strike balance in life.  How to not feel overwhelmed.  And yet, there where answers for that and more.  (And not just pray, fast, read the scriptures.)

I found as conference progressed that I wanted to underline specific words that stood out to me.  What follows is this list of words and short phrases that seem to be tools to help us through overwhelming situations.

  • Endure
  • Remain Positive
  • “The best is yet to be.” -Robert Browning
  • Regroup
  • Simplify
  • Meaningful Prayer
  • Choose Faith
  • “Jesus will make everything alright.”
  • Read the Book of Mormon
  • Prepare to Participate in the Sacrament
  • Quiet meditation
  • Hope
  • Action
  • Charity
  • Laughter
  • Seek for the eternal
  • Trust
  • Angels (seen & unseen)
  • Unity
  • Heartfelt Gratitude
  • Pray for others
  • Love
  • Be humble
  • Speak well of each other
  • Serve
  • Overcome
  • Devotion
  • Commitment
  • Find Joy in the Journey – NOW
  • Family
  • Encourage
  • Seek Him (the Lord)
  • Reach out

I think that’s quite a bit more than pray, fast and read the scriptures.

It was an amazing General Conference.
